On July 5, 2023, the 1st Tarragona Next Conference (Next Diversity and Business Programme) was held at the Catalonia Campus of the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, lasting for 3 hours.
It was a meeting of synergies and collaborations between organizations and companies with the common goal of promoting diversity in the business field, bringing together 60 people from the social and business sectors.
The conference featured the participation of M. Victoria Forns Fernandez, Chair of Social Inclusion at the Rovira i Virgili University; Àngels Brull, Vice President of PIMEC Tarragona; Marta Cid Pañella, Secretary of the Board of Directors of ECAS, and Manager of the Gentis Foundation.
Dr. Teresa Torres‐Corona delivered a lecture entitled “Diversity as a Challenge: What Will We Do?” about the inspiring experience of URV’s INSERLAB and IN-WORK Project in the employment inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities and the transformation it has brought about for both the participants and the university.
Gemma Pedra i Barés from the Reintegra Association moderated the panel of experiences featuring organizations and companies involved in the #NextDiversity Program, with the participation of Ainhoa Carbonell (Foundation for Training and Employment), Nil Martínez (Eveho Foundation), Rosalia Usach (Suara Cooperative), as well as Santi Bartolomé (INDUSTRIAS PRECIBER SA) and José María Alcantara Jofre (J.M Alcántara, S.L).
The event concluded with a networking activity for diversity, facilitated by Juanjo Villalobos from Gettingcontacts, and closing remarks by Marta Cid and Héctor Pérez Montlleó, Director of Employment and Training at PIMEC.
